One way to know immediately is to check the color of your urine:

Start by drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of ‘pure’ water!



Body weight / 2 = approximate ounces of “pure” water you should drink per day. (Ex. 200 lbs / 2 = 100 ounces or 7 – 16 oz. glasses of water. Unfortunately, everyone waits to drink something only when they ‘feel’ thirsty.  By then, you are already dehydrated because it’s the last signal your body gives you to let you know…..too late! So how can you avoid this? The only way to reach maximum hydration is by drinking “pure” water. Carry a stainless steel or BPA free bottle with you filled with quality filtered water EVERYWHERE! Before you get out of bed, drink a glass of water. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you feel awake & full of energy to start your day. It will also get things moving for a healthy bowel movement, too : ) Because you have your bottle with you, choose to drink water throughout the day instead of coffee, sodas or energy drinks. You will notice a complete change in your energy levels & will no longer need to rely on caffeine for that mid-day boost. Not only will you feel energized but you’ll also be saving money : ) Drink water 1/2 hour before every meal and you will notice that you eat less. Why? Many times we think we’re hungry, when we are, in fact, thirsty. So when you think you’re hungry, have a glass of water first. If you’re still hungry, then eat. If you aren’t, then you were just thirsty…..DEHYDRATED! When you exercise, keep in mind, that you may have to increase your “pure” water intake so that you can replenish those fluids lost from sweating. Carry your bottle of filtered water with you to the gym and make 1 Liter of water your goal for every hour of exercise. This will help with your recovery and help you avoid dehydration. What better way to address dehydration but by taking these few simple steps. Just by implementing what was discussed above, you will notice, in just a couple of weeks, the visible difference in your skin and the physical difference in your energy levels…you are well on your way to improving your overall health. Water is crucial for our survival. After 3 days of not drinking “pure” water, we would die! Our body and all of it’s organs, tissues, blood, muscle are comprised of 75-90% water. If our body did not have “pure” water to drink, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for all of our organs, tissues, blood, muscle, etc. to function properly or even survive. That means our body is truly dependent on having “pure” water and making sure we drink enough for our body to function optimally.




It takes 21 days to change a habit. So I challenge you to take the 21 day hydration challenge. For 21 days, choose to drink water instead of any other fluid to maintain proper hydration. Drink 1/2 your bodyweight in ounces of “pure” water per day. Keep a daily hydration journal of all the physical and mental changes you recognize in yourself over the course of 21 days. You’ll be surprised to recognize that you are more energized. You feel more focused and alert and find that you aren’t experiencing brain fog. The headaches you believed to be a normal part of your day have disappeared. You’ll find yourself feeling less hungry and having lost a few pounds.
